DPMAnutzerforum 2017 with a new concept
Press release of 16 March 2017
Munich. Almost 200 representatives from industry, professional associations as well as patent attorneys and lawyers gathered at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) today to learn about current developments and projects. The participants took part in a modified DPMAnutzerforum, which has been an established event of the federal authority for many years. The main event is preceded by a workshop on the future electronic e-service DPMAdirektPro, allowing electronic transmittal of documents to applicants and representatives.
"The new concept of the event and the great response to our invitation to the workshop prove the keen interest by the companies and law firms active in the field of IP in our e-services," said Cornelia Rudloff-Schäffer, President of the DPMA. "The newly developed DPMAdirektPro will complement our electronic services with a future-oriented digital dispatch route in the course of 2017," Rudloff-Schäffer continued.
DPMA experts and a representative of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection spoke about other current topics such as the status of the transposition of the revision of European trade mark law into national law, the prospects for the entry into force of the European patent reform with the new Unified Patent Court system, the developments in national patent procedures, the extension of the electronic case file in the field of designs, the implementation of the Act on Collective Management Organisations (Verwertungsgesellschaftengesetz) as well as the DPMA's priorities for international cooperation.
